Dazu der Originalkommentar aus meinem Indien Reiseführer: "A visit to the loo is not always one of India's more pleasant experiences: public toilets are often filthy and stink. In addition, there is the squatting position to get used to, as the traditional Asian toilet has a hole in the ground, with two small platforms either side for feet instead of a seat. Indians use a jug of water and their left hand instead of paper, a method you may also come to prefer."
So sind halt die Gewohnheiten verschieden und sich an das Neue zu gewöhnen fällt nicht allen leicht. Auch den Indern nicht... Ein Freund aus Frankreich, der bereits in Indien herumgereist ist, hat mir erzählt, dass es an einigen Orten sehr wohl WCs mit Sitz und Schüssel gebe. Und dabei habe er einige Male äusserst verdächtige Fussabdrücke auf der Klobrille entdeckt...

...weil man sich in Indien keinesfalls hinsetzen möchte, selbst wenn eine "western style toilet" vorhanden ist. ;-)
